When to visit
The best time to visit Hawkes Bay is in summer to make the most of the outdoor cycle trails, Te Mata Peak, rugged coastline and daylight savings. January and February are the warmest months with around 83 days of sunshine, temperature range between 20 to 25˚C. As the city is on the North Island, winter temperatures drop with some frost overnight. It makes a good time to visit the vineyards around Napier.
