With average winter temperatures barely dipping below the 25°C mark and summer hitting up into the 40’s, it’s fitting that the town’s nickname is “The Curry”. As storms and heavy rains can occur during summer, minor flooding can cut access towns you may be travelling to.

Arriving in Cloncurry
When your flight to Cloncurry touches down at Cloncurry Airport, you’ll be greeted by the friendly staff at the airport. From there, it’s easy to make your way for the short trip to town. Cloncurry was involved with the beginnings of Qantas in 1920, and the original Qantas Hangar is still in use at the aerodrome.
Getting into Cloncurry from Cloncurry Airport
The Cloncurry Airport is located approximately 4km from town. A limited shuttle service is available from Aussie Outback Airport Shuttles which requires advance booking.
Getting around Cloncurry
Aussie Outback offer a charter service for transport around Cloncurry and the wider region, prior arrangement is necessary. A weekday bus services runs from Cloncurry to Mount Isa where hire cars are also available.
