Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) is the capital of West Bengal and the second largest city in India after Mumbai. Famously known as the City of Joy, Kolkata offers artistic, cultural and vibrant experiences. Wander the streets which are vivid, chaotic and brim with life and creativity with countless bazaars to explore. As the former capital of colonial British India, Kolkata retains a lot of colonial-era architecture, which can be seen at the incredible Victoria Memorial. It is the ideal place to experience the taste of Bengali cuisine, the lively nightlife that stretches along Park Street houses or to relax in Millennium Park, where you can take a boat ride or cruise.
