Getting into Port Moresby from Port Moresby Airport

Getting into Port Moresby from the airport is easy, thanks to the range of transport options available. Choose from taxis, bus, hotel shuttle, private transfer or car rental. Taxi is a comfortable option and takes about 20 to 25 minutes to get to Port Moresby. Thanks to Port Moresby’s variety of transport options, it is easy to travel around the city. Walking along Ela Beach and the markets is a nice option to take in the sights. The PMV mini buses (Public Motor Vehicles) service all parts of the city and is a cheap way to travel. Buses have the route number printed on them and it’s easy to ask locals where the buses go. There are car rental companies available, though the roads are unsealed, so it's best to take a taxi. It’s possible to hail one on the street or get your hotel to call one for you.
