ART Matisse & Picasso

From 13 December | National Gallery of Australia
This landmark exhibition brings together duelling artistic masterminds of the 20th century. Friends for more than 40 years, Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso shared a healthy mix of rivalry and admiration, their respective competitive streaks helping to shape the face of modern art. Works on show at the National Gallery have been drawn from 40 international collections, including Matisse’s Nature morte aux oranges ou La corbeille d’oranges (Still Life with Oranges) and Picasso’s La Lecture.
