Our lowest Classic Flight Reward is now flying
Book Classic Flight Rewards on all Jetstar short-haul domestic flights within Australia and New Zealand from just 5,700 Qantas Points one-way plus $27 in taxes, fees and carrier charges (previously 6,400). It’s the lowest ‘year-round’ Economy reward seat available in Australia today.

Earn more Qantas Points on flights
You will now earn up to 25% more points on Qantas domestic flights. Members who hold Silver status and above will also enjoy increased Status Bonus points when booking in premium cabins on Qantas-marketed flights.
Network

Domestic network announcements
We’re expanding our domestic network, giving our customers access to more direct flights and greater connectivity. Fly direct between Perth and Newcastle, three times per week from 8 September 2025, and between Perth and Hobart, three times per week from 26 September 2025 (seasonal). Qantas customers can also enjoy new seasonal direct flights from Melbourne to Hamilton Island, starting 26 October 2025.

Connecting Auckland and Adelaide with direct flights
From 31 October 2025, take off from Adelaide to Auckland four times per week and discover the city’s exceptional culinary scene and perfect mix of urban life, harbour views and natural beauty. Flights will operate seasonally through to 3 May 2026 on a 737-800 aircraft.

Classic Plus Flight Rewards now available, Australia and beyond
With over 20 million reward seats to choose from across our international and domestic network, you can now fly to every Qantas destination with Classic Plus Flight Rewards. Enjoy widespread availability, including in peak travel periods, plus discounted fares during sales.

Boeing 737-800s to get a cabin upgrade
Look forward to an improved, next-generation inflight experience on our Boeing 737-800s as we embark on cabin upgrades of 42 aircraft. Upgrades will include new Business and Economy seats with charging technology, refreshed interiors and larger overhead locker space for your carry-on baggage. These upgrades will ensure that as our new fleet continues to arrive, flying with us on our existing aircraft will look and feel new. The first upgraded 737-800 aircraft is set to fly from 2027.

A smoother arrival with SmartGates
Arriving internationally? If you hold an ePassport, you can fast-track passport control at major Australian ports using SmartGates. The simple two-step process is now available to travellers aged 7 and over, making arrivals easier for families.

Community and sustainability

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) lands in Sydney
Australia’s largest import of SAF arrived in May. The fuel, which was derived from used cooking oil, was blended with traditional jet fuel before testing and certification and used to fuel flights out of Sydney Airport.

Joining forces for reef restoration
Our partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation helped Boats4Corals launch in December 2024 in the Cairns region. The project sees the reef community come together to collaborate on the Coral IVF restoration technique.
