Partners in Community Spirit

We're proud to partner with UNICEF Australia to transform the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children.

Putting our children first together with UNICEF Australia

Every day Qantas flies Australians across the globe on holidays, connecting friends and bringing loved ones home to be with family. We're all part of a global community and need to look out for each other especially in times of need.

Children and young people are the least responsible but the most impacted by the events of natural disasters, the climate crisis, and devastating conflicts and wars.

UNICEF works in more than 190 countries to help children realise their full potential by providing access to clean water, lifesaving vaccines, quality education and health care. From emergency relief to long-term development solutions, UNICEF is always there for every child no matter what.

In 1991, Qantas was the first oneworld airline to take part in UNICEF’s Change for Good® program and it’s UNICEF Australia’s longest running partnership. For over 30 years we’ve partnered to transform the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children.

Collective impact

The partnership between Qantas and UNICEF Australia has raised over AU$39 million. Donations are made onboard during international and domestic flights to the Change for Good Program, at airport terminal donation bins, Qantas Charity Redemptions and other fundraising initiatives.

UNICEF relies 100% on voluntary donations. Small change really does make big changes around the world.

  • $68 can buy 126 sachets of ready-to-use therapeutic food, which can bring a child back from severe malnutrition in as little as six weeks.
  • $85 can provide a vaccine pack with 260 vaccines to protect children against tetanus, polio, measles and more.
  • $100 can reach 460 children with polio vaccines.
  • $108 can help transform 90,000 litres of dirty water into drinking water.
