Card payment fees

For flight bookings made using a card in New Zealand, a card payment fee applies per passenger, per booking.

Card payment fees by fare type
Fare type - New Zealand Debit and pre-paid cards, including Qantas Cash®
Credit and charge cards
Trans-Tasman NZ$7 NZ$7
All other bookings containing an international flight NZ$30 NZ$30

Payment options that don't incur the card payment fee:

  • POLi
  • Qantas UATP; or
  • Credit voucher.

For Points Plus Pay - flights booking, a card payment fee applies unless you pay using POLi or choose to redeem entirely in points. For Classic Flight Reward bookings, no card payment fee applies.

Booking Fees

In addition to making bookings on qantas.com, bookings can be made through Qantas Contact Centres and selected Qantas airport locations, as well as web chat and selected social media channels in some countries. The following Booking Fees apply for bookings made through Qantas Contact Centres, Qantas airport locations, web chat and social media. The below fees are not payable for bookings made online via qantas.com.

Change Booking Fees

In addition to changing bookings on qantas.com, bookings can be changed (where allowed) through Qantas Contact Centres and selected Qantas airport locations, as well as web chat and selected social media channels in some countries. The following Change Booking Fees apply for bookings changed through Qantas Contact Centres, Qantas airport locations, web chat and social media. The below fees are not payable for bookings changed online via qantas.com.

No Change Booking Fees apply for changes to a booking in Business or First, including date and time changes.

Note: to change a booking via any method, a change fee may apply depending on the fare type purchased. You may also have to pay any difference between the fare for your new booking and the original fare. Refer to the applicable fare rules for details.

Cancellation fees may apply and these vary depending on your point of origin and destination. Refer to the applicable fare rules for details.

The following fee applies when you request a refund of additional baggage allowance in accordance with the terms and conditions.

Disclaimer: * Any bookings made through Qantas Contact Centres for travel on a Qantas Ticket on China Eastern, Japan Airlines, Malaysian Airlines and Jet Airways aircraft will not be charged Booking fees. If a change or cancellation is required, fees will be applied.
