When fees do not apply

Fees may not apply if you're entitled to a refund or flight change under applicable local law or the Conditions of Carriage due to a cancellation, delay or schedule change.

Payment fees

A payment fee per ticket per card is charged for bookings made in New Zealand by credit card, charge card, debit card, prepaid cards or PayPal unless an exception applies.

Card payment fees

The payment fee will be rounded up to the nearest 10 cents for each ticket.

Fees are capped at a maximum per ticket, per card of $70.

Payment options that don't incur the payment fee:

  • PayPal
  • UATP cards issued by Qantas; or
  • Flight Credits.

For Points Plus Pay - flights booking, a payment fee applies unless you pay using PayPal or choose to redeem entirely in points. For Classic Flight Reward bookings, no payment fee applies.

Booking Fees

In addition to making bookings on qantas.com, bookings can be made through Qantas Contact Centres and selected Qantas airport locations as well as web chat, sms and selected social media channels in some countries. The following fees apply for bookings made through Qantas Contact Centres, Qantas airport locations, web chat and social media. The below fees are not payable for bookings made online via qantas.com.

Change Booking Fees

In addition to changing bookings on qantas.com, bookings can be changed (where allowed) through Qantas Contact Centres and selected Qantas airport locations, as well as web chat, sms and selected social media channels in some countries. The following Change Booking Fees apply for bookings changed through Qantas Contact Centres, Qantas airport locations, web chat and social media. The below fees are not payable for bookings changed online via qantas.com.

No Change Booking Fees will apply for changes to a booking in Business or First, including date and time changes.

Note: to change a booking via any method, a change fee may apply depending on the fare type purchased. You may also have to pay any difference between the fare for your new booking and the original fare. Refer to the applicable fare rules for details.

The following fee applies when you request a refund of additional baggage allowance in accordance with the terms and conditions
