Within the Frequent Flyer Program there are different earn rates called Qantas Frequent Flyer Earn Categories that are aligned to the type of fare you purchase. Your Fare Type or Booking Class is generally available during the booking process. It is also displayed on your E-Ticket.

Using Qantas Points for Classic Flight Rewards
Booking a Qantas or partner airline Classic Flight Reward2 for yourself or eligible family members is a great way to use your points. Find out how many points you'll need for your preferred destination and travel class. Classic Flight Rewards are available on eligible flights1 on Qantas, Jetstar, oneworld® alliance and other partner airlines and affiliates. It is important to note that Classic Flight Reward availability is limited and taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable in addition to the points required.

2 Classic Flight Rewards are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited and some flights may not have any Classic Flight Rewards available. The Qantas Points required will be displayed during the booking process on qantas.com or Qantas Direct (fees may apply). Taxes, fees and Carrier Charges are payable to Qantas (excluding any amounts payable to third parties at the airport) in addition to the points required. 3 Classic Upgrade Rewards are available on eligible paid and confirmed tickets on Qantas operated services (and from time to time on codeshare flights operated by another carrier) with a Qantas (QF) flight number on your ticket, selected domestic Qantas Points Plus Pay – Flights and eligible Qantas Classic Flight Rewards in Economy and Premium Economy. Classic Upgrade Rewards are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited. Classic Upgrade Rewards are not available for all fare types.
