Status Support

Over the past few years, Qantas has offered members a range of generous support to help retain their status including: multiple status extensions, Status Credit boosts, more opportunities to earn Status Credits on the ground and simplifying the requirements needed to retain.

Since then, domestic and international flying has significantly recovered. This means the vast majority of Frequent Flyers have had a full year to earn the required Status Credits they need to retain their tier benefits. However, for those whose membership year started between July 2022 to September 2022, a material portion of their travel plans were impacted by a reduced network, making it particularly hard to achieve the high threshold of Status Credits required for Platinum and Platinum One members.

As such, we are offering the below support to help these specific members retain their status for another year:

  • We have temporarily reduced the number of Status Credits required to retain by 20% for Platinum One members whose status expires in July, August, or September 2023. Meaning these members will only need to earn 2,880 Status Credits (down from 3,600) with 2,160 (normally 2,700) of them acquired from flying on Qantas-marketed flights on or before their Membership Year date.
  • We have also reduced the number of Status Credits required to retain by 20% for Platinum members whose status expires in July, August, or September 2023. Meaning these members will only need to earn 960 Status Credits (down from 1,200) with at least four eligible Qantas group flights taken on or before their Membership Year date.
