Refunds - changes by Qantas

If Qantas changes the time or date of, or cancels the Eligible Flight, Eligible Customers may choose to receive a full refund for the Lounge Access purchased for that Eligible Flight (or in case of a multi-sector itinerary, any other Eligible Flight on the itinerary). If the Eligible Customer does not use Lounge Access due to schedule changes, or cancellation, by Qantas, refunds must be applied for through the Qantas Refunds page.

Lounge Access Invitations are, and Lounge Access is, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or Qantas Points, unless otherwise specified by Qantas.

Accessing the Eligible Lounge

Eligible Customers can access the Eligible Lounge on the day of the Eligible Flight, before departure. Lounge Access is subject to the Terms and Conditions of that lounge. Lounge Access is subject to space availability and Eligible Customers may be refused entry if the lounge is full. A full refund is permitted in this situation. Refunds must be applied for through the Qantas Refunds page.

Smart, casual dress standards apply as a minimum at all times and entry may be refused if Eligible Customers do not meet that standard. Individual lounge managers will have discretion to administer these standards as they reasonably deem appropriate in the circumstances. A refund is not permitted in this situation. Qantas Club and International Business lounge staff have the discretion to refuse entry to any Eligible Customer if, in their reasonable opinion, the Eligible Customer has not or will not comply with these Terms and Conditions or the Club Rules, or the refusal is necessary or convenient for the orderly operation of the lounge or other facilities or the safety or comfort of other members, their guests and staff. A refund is not permitted in this situation.

Eligible Customers under the legal drinking age must be accompanied by an Eligible Customer of, or over, the legal drinking age in any Eligible Lounge. Legal drinking age may vary in different jurisdictions and countries.

Complimentary Invitations

Complimentary Invitations to access an Eligible Lounge may be provided to Eligible Customers through the Complimentary Invitations Portal. Complimentary Invitations exclude The Qantas Club Annual Guest Card, The Qantas Club Interim, Qantas Club Vouchers, Qantas First Lounge Complimentary Invitation, Visitor Pass, any Qantas Staff lounge access invitations, or any other lounge access pass not listed in the Complimentary Invitations Portal.

Complimentary Invitations Portal is the section on qantas.com where Complimentary Invitations may be viewed and linked to an Eligible Flight.

Eligible Customers are customers who have received a Complimentary Invitation directly from Qantas or through an authorised third party. Eligible Customers may, where authorised by Qantas, transfer the Complimentary Invitation to a Qantas Frequent Flyer Member. Unless otherwise permitted by Qantas, customers who are also airline industry staff, including their families and travel companions, are not eligible to access lounges when travelling on industry discounted tickets.

Type of Complimentary Invitation is either a General, Domestic or Platinum One Complimentary Invitation. A General Invitation allows entry into any Qantas Club or Qantas operated International Business Lounge. A Domestic Invitation allows entry into any Qantas Club (Domestic Lounge). A Platinum One Complimentary Invitation allows entry into Qantas Club, Qantas International Business Lounge or Qantas International First Lounge subject to availability and the terms and conditions of the lounge.

Using a Complimentary Invitation

A Complimentary Invitation will appear in the Eligible Customer's Complimentary Invitations Portal when available. Eligible Customers must link the Complimentary Invitation to an Eligible Flight in the Eligible Customer's Complimentary Invitations Portal before the earlier of either a) check in closing or b) departure gate closing for that flight closes. After the Complimentary Invitation has been linked to an Eligible Flight, the Eligible Customer will receive an email confirmation (may take up to 30 minutes if linked within 24 hours of departure) which must be presented at the Eligible Lounge together with a boarding pass for the Eligible Flight.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure they link their Complimentary Invitations correctly and select the correct invitation to use, departure lounge, booking reference, personal details and flight details. Incorrectly linked invitations cannot be reinstated.

Unlinking a Complimentary Invitation - changes by an Eligible Customer

If an Eligible Customer changes the Eligible Flight up to 24 hours before scheduled departure of that flight, the Eligible Customer must login to the Complimentary Invitations Portal and link the Complimentary Invitation to the new Eligible Flight. For Eligible Flights operated by Jetstar, the Eligible Customer must login to the Complimentary Invitations Portal to unlink the previously linked Complimentary Invitation from the original Eligible Flight and link it to the new Eligible Flight.

If an Eligible Customer cancels the Eligible Flight up to 24 hours before scheduled departure of that flight, the Complimentary Invitation will be unlinked from the Eligible Flight and become reinstated to unused status. For Eligible Flights operated by Jetstar, the Eligible Customer must log into the Complimentary Invitations Portal to unlink the Complimentary Invitation, to reinstate it to unused status.

Eligible Customers can link reinstated Complimentary Invitations to a new Eligible Flight before check-in closes for the relevant flight.

If an Eligible Customer changes or cancels the Eligible Flight within 24 hours of the scheduled departure of that flight, or has linked an invitation but does not access the selected lounge, the linked Complimentary Invitation becomes invalid, cannot be linked to another flight, cannot be reinstated and will be forfeited. At its sole discretion and only under exceptional circumstances, Qantas may reinstate the Complimentary Invitation to unused status, providing that the Complimentary Invitation has not expired.

Unlinking a Complimentary Invitation - changes by Qantas or Jetstar

If Qantas changes the Eligible Flight up to 24 hours before scheduled departure, the Complimentary Invitation will be automatically linked to the new Eligible Flight. For Eligible Flights operated by Jetstar, the Complimentary Invitation will not be automatically linked to the new flight and the Eligible Customer must log into the Complimentary Invitations Portal to unlink the Complimentary Invitation and link it to the new Eligible Flight.

If Qantas cancels the Eligible Flight up to 24 hours before scheduled departure, the Complimentary Invitation will be automatically unlinked from the Eligible Flight and reinstated to unused status. For Eligible Flights operated by Jetstar, the Eligible Customer must log into the Complimentary Invitations Portal to unlink the Complimentary Invitation, which will be reinstated to unused status.

Eligible Customers can link reinstated Complimentary Invitations to a new Eligible Flight before check in closes for the relevant flight.

If Qantas changes the Eligible Flight within 24 hours of the scheduled departure, the Complimentary Invitation will be automatically linked to the new Eligible Flight. If Qantas or Jetstar cancels the Eligible Flight within 24 hours of the scheduled departure, the Eligible Customer is entitled to request for the Complimentary Invitation to be reinstated to unused status through the Qantas Refunds page.

Platinum One Complimentary Invitations are only valid on flights operated by Qantas with a Qantas (QF) flight number. They are not valid on flights operated by Jetstar.

Complimentary Invitations are not for resale and cannot be exchanged for Cash or Qantas Points. Complimentary Invitations can only be transferred within the Complimentary Invitations Portal.

A Complimentary Invitation can be transferred within the Complimentary Invitations Portal to another Qantas Frequent Flyer Member with an active Membership Number. It is the responsibility of the Eligible Customer to inform the recipient of the transfer. The transfer is not reversible unless the recipient re-transfers the Complimentary Invitation through the recipient's own Complimentary Invitations Portal page. The Type of Complimentary Invitation and Expiry Date will be retained by a transferred Complimentary Invitation. The Qantas Group is not responsible for any incorrect transfers made where the incorrect transfer is not due to an error by the Qantas Group, its employees or agents, and in such circumstances will not reinstate any Complimentary Invitations incorrectly or mistakenly transferred.
