Physical Qantas Frequent Flyer card and kit distribution
Due to the impact of Coronavirus, we temporarily paused the distribution of some physical Qantas Frequent Flyer cards and kits sent to members.
The distribution of physical cards and kits for new Frequent Flyer members, members who retain their tier and members who move to a lower tier will remain paused until 31 December 2022.
Qantas will continue distribution of physical cards and kits to members who attain a higher tier as well as members who purchase or renew Qantas Club membership.
All members - both with and without a physical Frequent Flyer card - can access their digital card in the Qantas App. All Qantas and partner booking systems will continue to reflect any membership changes.
Members who have activated the Qantas Travel Money facility, have cash loaded and/or have transacted at least once in the last twelve months will continue to receive a physical card.

Why did Qantas pause issuing physical Frequent Flyer and Qantas Club cards?
Like most airlines impacted by Coronavirus, Qantas is bound by government-enforced travel restrictions resulting in network changes and international lounge closures. As a result, we have paused a number of our travel-related services.
Members who are travelling can use the digital Frequent Flyer card available in the Qantas App by selecting ‘My QFF’ and then the card icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. The member’s Frequent Flyer status will continue to appear on boarding passes.
When will Qantas resume the distribution of physical Frequent Flyer cards and kits?
Qantas continues to send out kits when a member attains a higher tier as well as Qantas Club kits.
Members who have activated the Qantas Travel Money facility, have cash loaded and/or have transacted at least once in the last twelve months will also continue to receive a physical card.
The distribution of other physical Frequent Flyer cards and kits will remain temporarily paused until 31 December 2022.
Will members still be able to attain and retain status during this period?
Yes. The attain process will continue as normal for members who continue to travel. To help members retain their status, we’ve offered a range of support mechanisms since March 2020, including status extension, Status Credit boosts and the ability to earn them on the ground. In November 2020, we’ve offered to extend the status of eligible members for a further 12 months. Members based in Australia and New Zealand simply need to book a Qantas flight before their membership year ends. Learn more about status support
If a member attains a higher status, will Qantas notify them of this?
Yes. Qantas Frequent Flyer will send a new tier kit to members who attain a higher status. The kit will be sent to the member’s preferred physical address as listed in their Frequent Flyer account. Check your details are up to date.
Members retaining their existing status will receive an email notification. The email notification will be sent to the member’s preferred valid email address as listed in their Frequent Flyer account. Check your details are up to date.
How can members view their digital Frequent Flyer card?
The Qantas Frequent Flyer digital card is available in the Qantas App by selecting ‘My QFF’ and then the card icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
What’s displayed on the digital Frequent Flyer card?
The digital Qantas Frequent Flyer card displays everything physical cards show, including:
- Current status (e.g. Platinum)
- Current status expiry date
- Lifetime Status (when applicable)
- Qantas Club membership expiry date (when applicable)
- Chairmans Lounge membership expiry date (when applicable).
If a member holds a valid physical Qantas Frequent Flyer card, can they continue to use it?
Yes. There is no change in the use of valid physical Frequent Flyer cards with Qantas and our program partners.
If a member is travelling between now and 31 December 2022, will they need a physical card to access eligible partner lounges?
No. Qantas and partner airlines will accept the digital card and boarding passes will continue to reflect Frequent Flyer status. Lounge Access and eligibility conditions apply.
Can a member request a replacement physical card during the paused period?
The member’s digital membership card located in the Qantas App will replace the physical card with the exception of members who attain a higher tier, purchase or renew Qantas Club membership, or have an active Qantas Travel Money facility with a cash balance and/or have transacted at least once in the last twelve months.

Will Qantas send a physical card if a member joins or renews their Qantas Club membership?
Yes. Qantas will issue a physical card for Qantas Club members who join or renew their membership.
Will Qantas send a new Qantas Club membership card to members who had their membership extended for six months by Qantas?
No. Members who have their Qantas Club membership extended by Qantas will not be sent a physical card. Once your membership has been extended, your updated Membership Year end date can be viewed in My account or the Qantas App.
Will Qantas send a Frequent Flyer card to members who had their Frequent Flyer status extended for 12 months by Qantas?
Qantas will not send physical Frequent Flyer cards to members who are due to receive one between 1 April 2020 to 31 December 2022, unless the member has an active Qantas Travel Money facility with a cash balance and/or have transacted at least once in the last twelve months.
Once the pause period is over, will Qantas send a physical card to members who did not receive one?
No. Members can request a physical card by contacting the Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre.
