Different conditions will apply to your Flight Credit depending on when your original booking was made and why the Flight Credit was issued.
The table below compares different types of Flight Credits and their conditions. You should always refer to the terms and conditions applicable to your Flight Credit.

Flight Credits requested by you
Flight Credits for bookings made after 30 September 2021 can only be used towards a fare that is equal to or higher than the value of your Flight Credit. This means you must use your Flight Credit in one booking. Lower fares may be available on qantas.com using a different payment method.
When you cancel a booking, either online through Manage booking or by contacting your local Qantas office, you may be offered a Qantas Flight Credit.

When will my Flight Credit expire? | You must book before 31 December 2023. At any point Qantas travel can be booked up to a maximum of 353 days in advance, which reflects system range. On 31 December 2023, this will mean travel can be booked up to 19 December 2024. If you would prefer to receive a refund, contact your local Qantas office. You can get a refund of your Flight Credit at any time, including after 31 December 2023. |
You must book and travel within 12 months of your original booking date. If you don’t use your Flight Credit before the expiry date, the Flight Credit value will be forfeited unless the original fare conditions permitted a refund, and your refund request was submitted prior to the expiry date. |

There are no fees associated with obtaining your Flight Credit. However, any fees that applied to your original booking will apply at time of redeeming your Flight Credit, unless they have been waived. For example, if you purchased a Red e-Deal or sale fare, the change fee will be charged when you redeem your Flight Credit. Make sure you check the fare conditions of your original booking to find out what fees will apply when you redeem your Flight Credit. If you're unable to use your Flight Credit online and you redeem your Flight Credit through your local Qantas Office, the change booking fee usually charged for assisted bookings will be waived.

When you're ready to redeem your Flight Credit, enter the credit reference and your last name below. Once your Flight Credit information is displayed, click on the Find Flights button to book your flights.
Only fares you can book with your Flight Credit will be shown when redeeming it. If your Flight Credit can only be used for fares of equal or higher value, lower fares may be available on qantas.com using a payment method other than your Flight Credit.
Your Flight Credit reference is six characters, and is a mix of letters and numbers. In most cases, this reference is the same as your original booking reference.

It’s not possible to use a Flight Credit to pay, or partially pay, for a new booking created outside of the above options, such as via the flight search page or the Qantas app.
You may not be able to retrieve or use your Flight Credit online if:
If your Flight Credit isn't displayed in your Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards bookings or credit list, and the credit hasn't been converted to a Qantas Pass, you can retrieve your credit by entering your Flight Credit reference and last name above. Ensure you add your Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards details into any new bookings you make using your credit value.
When cancelling your booking online, you may be presented with the option to request a Flight Credit.

Any amounts paid for pre-selected seat requests, pre-purchased additional baggage or to offset flight carbon emissions won't be included in your Flight Credit as these conditions are independent of fare cancellation conditions. To see if you can apply for a refund, refer to the applicable terms and conditions for more information.
