    Flights

    Qantas flights

Qantas operated flights (international and domestic) operate from the Terminal 3 and 4 (T3/T4) precinct.

    Other airlines

Jetstar domestic and our codeshare partner Air North also operate from the T3/T4 precinct.

All other international airlines, including Jetstar and Qantas codeshare partners, operate from T1. Perth T3/T4 is physically separated from T1 by a 15 minute drive, and no airside transfer facility is available.

    Departures

    Check-in

Ensure you check-in for your flight before you arrive at the airport. Check-in for domestic flights opens 24 hours before departure and closes 30 minutes before departure, and 1 hour before international flight departures (QF1-199).

There are four easy options to complete check-in:

Download your digital boarding pass after checking in online and you’re ready to go.

Customers who require special assistance, unaccompanied minors or large groups, please make yourself known to our friendly customer service agents on the ground floor who will be able to assist you with the check-in process.

Note: For Qantas codeshare flights, customers may need to check in with the operating carrier rather than with Qantas.

    Seat selection

Complimentary seat selection is available online for all domestic flights from the moment you book your flight. If you haven’t selected a seat before you complete your online check-in, you will be assigned a seat. You can change your seat online up to 30 minutes before your flight departure.

    Checked baggage

Don’t forget, if you’re travelling with checked bags, you need to drop them off at least 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights. Use your digital boarding pass at our self-serve bag tag kiosks on the ground floor to print your baggage tags before proceeding to the self-serve bag drop. If you’re a Qantas Frequent Flyer with a Q Bag Tag, you can head straight to bag drop and use this to tag any baggage you may want to check-in when flying within Australia.

Need to bring a bit extra? Pre-purchase an additional baggage allowance online and save on airport prices.

    Flight status

View our real time flight status page for up-to-the-minute departure information.

Our domestic airports have gone cashless. The purchase of tickets, additional baggage and other Qantas flight related products can be made at qantas.com. Excess baggage payments can still be made by credit card at our self-serve bag tag kiosks.

    Arrivals

    Baggage

Baggage carousels are located in the Arrivals hall (ground floor) of Terminal 3 and Terminal 4. Information monitors display flight carousel numbers.

Baggage Services is located in Terminal 4 and operating hours differ depending on flight times. The service remains open until the last arriving flight.

    Transfers

    Transferring between terminals

All Qantas operated flights (international and domestic) operate from the Terminal 3 and 4 (T3/T4) precinct at Perth Airport. All other international airlines, including Jetstar, operate from Perth Terminal 1 (T1). Perth T3/T4 is physically separated from T1 by an approximately 15 minute drive.

A complimentary shuttle bus service is available to Qantas passengers (includes codeshare flight passengers) for transfers between Terminals 3/4 and Terminal 1. Visit the Perth AirportOpens in a new tab or window website to see the current operating status and timetable.

Terminals 3 and 4 are a short walk (150m) within the same building complex.

Visa information for international passengers connecting through Perth

Passengers with international connections in Perth between Qantas operated and other airlines' international flights may need to obtain a visa or electronic travel authority (ETA) prior to arriving in Australia in order to move between terminals.

On arrival at T1, international passengers will need to clear Customs and Immigration, then exit the terminal and take the Perth Airport shuttle bus from T1 to T3/T4, and vice versa. For example, international passengers travelling on a non-Qantas flight from Auckland-Perth and connecting onto Qantas' Perth-London service may require an Australian visa due to the distance between T1 and T3/T4.

This will not impact international passengers who would typically obtain a transit visa to transit through Australia. Holders of a valid transit visa can enter Australia at T1 and proceed to T3/T4 for their connection without any additional requirements.

    Transiting in Perth

Flights from Sydney/Melbourne to Rome/London Heathrow

Customers who are transiting through Perth from Sydney or Melbourne to Rome or London Heathrow will clear customs in London or Rome, or Sydney and Melbourne on the return journey. Baggage will remain on the aircraft until you’ve reached your final destination.

Customers who are connecting in Perth to other Australian destinations will need to collect their baggage and clear customs in Perth.
