Wellington Airport is 8 kilometres away from the Central Business District (CBD). The average journey by taxi is around 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic and time of day. Taxi ranks can be found directly outside the baggage claim area on the ground floor of the main terminal. An airport shuttle is a cheaper option with the rank outside the main terminal and can be pre-booked in advance. Wellington airport offers convenient car rental services from a variety of operators and making a reservation is easy. It's a great way to explore the region at your own pace.
