Two weeks of luxury in the southern states

Melbourne - Adelaide - Hobart

You can never dedicate enough time to spoiling yourself but two weeks in Australia’s southern states is a great place to start. Whether you’re into luxury eco-retreats, gourmet meals, award-winning wineries, or all of those and more, this itinerary has everything you’ll need.

Peninsula hot springs

Days 1 - 5: Melbourne

Often referred to as the most ‘European’ of all Australia’s cities, Melbourne’s love of fashion, art, and music, combined with its sprawling metropolis of rooftop bars and modern eateries make it the perfect place to indulge yourself.

Our recommendations:

  • Go gourmet in the Yarra Valley
From the ultra-modern Levantine Hill winery to the old-world charm of Eleonore’s Restaurant, the Yarra is dotted with opportunities to treat your tastebuds to local, seasonal produce and some of the best wine in the world.
  • Soak up the sunset from a rooftop bar
From extravagant garden parties to sky-high tapas restaurants, there’s another world on Melbourne’s rooftops.
  • Sink into thermal springs on the Mornington Peninsula
Take a respite from the city and book into alba, on the Mornington Peninsula. Here you can plunge into thermal pools, enjoy luxurious full-day spa treatments and unwind as you take in the stunning surroundings.
Mount Lofty Botanic Garden

Days 6 - 9: Adelaide

Adelaide is known as a vibrant and cosmopolitan city. Immerse yourself in the city’s secret laneways, world-famous vineyards and energetic and flourishing food scene.

Our recommendations:

  • Glide over the Barossa Valley
Book a hot air balloon ride and experience breathtaking 360˚ views of one of the world’s most famous wine regions. Watch the sunrise as you float towards the sparkling coast, across the Barossa ranges and land among the vineyards.
  • Indulge in a chocolate and cheese trail
No luxury trip should involve too much walking, but the Adelaide Hills chocolate and cheese trail is one worth doing. Stroll past several artisan producers and specialist outlets as you indulge in the finest of treats.
  • Have a picnic at the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens
Bring some wine and your favourite snacks to the Botanic Gardens of Mount Lofty and enjoy spectacular views over Main Lake as you stretch out on the grass and walk among a sea of colourful gullies and forests.
Sandy Bay, Hobart

Days 9 - 14: Hobart

Amidst Tasmania’s wild and rugged landscapes, you’ll find some of Australia’s most luxurious experiences. From award-winning eco-lodges to plates of freshly shucked oysters, Hobart offers the ideal place to unwind and forget about the world.

Our recommendations:

  • Experience the art of the MONA
The Museum of Old and New Art is no ordinary gallery, but an experience itself. Descend its seemingly endless stairs into a labyrinth of over 1,900 displays, all curated to shock, confuse, and inspire.
  • Wake up in paradise in Freycinet
Home to Tasmania’s iconic Wineglass Bay, Freycinet National Park also hosts many secret wonders. Book in for a night or two at the Freycinet Lodge and wake up to unparalleled views of Great Oyster Bay and the Hazards mountain range.
  • Enjoy fine dining on the seafront
Tasmania has a repertoire for superb food, and Hobart houses some of the best places to find it. Take a walk along the harbour promenade and discover endless ways to sample freshly caught fish, Bruny Island oysters and more.
