EXHIBITION Collecting Comme

Showcasing the lasting influence of Comme des Garçons, this special retrospective is the first Australian exhibition of the revolutionary fashion house’s work. Highlights from Rei Kawakubo’s early collections, including her first presentation in Paris in 1981, will stand alongside 65 other garments that helped cement the Japanese label’s reputation as a trailblazer. Pieces on show include Sweater 1983 and selections from the iconic 1997 Body Meets Dress-Dress Meets Body ready-to-wear collection.
