Qantas’s new safety video shows off some of the world’s liveliest locations. If you find yourself in one of these cities this year, here are the must-dos.

Picasso in London

You haven’t seen Pablo Picasso until you’ve seen Picasso 1932: Love, Fame, Tragedy, the first solo exhibition of the Spanish artist’s works to be shown at Tate Modern (8 March to 9 September). Among the 100-plus artworks on display, the three you don’t want to miss are Nude, Green Leaves and Bust; Nude in a Black Armchair; and The Mirror. All portray the artist’s lover, Marie-Thérèse Walter, and are being shown together for the first time since they were created over five days in 1932.

Pizza in New York

As if the debate about who does New York’s best pizza wasn’t divisive enough. The New York Times’ restaurant critic, Pete Wells, has really added fuel to the woodfired oven by calling Razza – which isn’t even in NYC proper but in New Jersey – the city’s ultimate pizza den. Take one bite (“crisp all the way from the puffy outer lip to the inner tip”) and you’ll understand why.

Paradise in Singapore

Raffles Singapore is one of world’s most iconic hotels – right up there with The Ritz properties. But in 2018, there’s a new reason to check in to one of its hallowed rooms replete with the glamour of a bygone era. Following an exhaustive renovation, the beloved luxury hotel will reopen in the second half of the year – a great excuse to experience (or re-experience) its timeless grandeur. And yes, you must have a Singapore Sling.
