Looking for an extravagant way to ring in 2019?
Well, it doesn’t get more decadent than a four-course dinner in a private dining room at Quay, complete with front-row views of the famed Sydney Harbour fireworks.
For the first time, Quay, which underwent a complete refurbishment and menu redesign in 2018, is opening up the Green Room, the dining space above the main restaurant, for a New Year’s Eve celebration.
On the menu, designed by executive chef Peter Gilmore, you’ll find only the most premium dishes: hand-harvested seafood next to coastal succulents; a congee of blue swimmer crab; roasted champagne lobster generously drizzled with a lemon emulsion and brown butter; and the juiciest cuts of David Blackmore Wagyu beef. Each course is served with matching wines.
Dessert is a selection of canapés (your new year’s resolutions technically don’t start for another few hours), including a coconut and raspberry macaron, lemon-curd meringue tart and Valrhona chocolate cake.
Plus, the $1450 per person event also gives guests private access to the terraces that surround the waterfront fine-diner for uninterrupted – possibly the best – views of the 9pm and midnight fireworks on Sydney Harbour.
Oh, and did we mention a live jazz band will get the party swinging?
The celebration kicks off at 8pm with champagne and canapés and finishes at 1am. Tickets are $1450 per person and are available now.
