Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro on the set of Taxi Driver
The oft-quoted Taxi Driver was Scorsese’s second collaboration with Robert De Niro, who took the career-making role as Travis Bickle. The film was selected by the US Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry in 1994 on the grounds of being “culturally, historically or aesthetically” significant.
