The Pre-Flight Airport Facial You Need to Know About

If you’ve come to think of the pre-flight airport period as a tedious stopover on the way to holiday-ville, La Prairie wishes you to reconsider.
The Swiss luxury brand, known for its super-nourishing creams and celebrity fans, has opened a world-first clinic at Sydney International Airport departures hall. The Art of Luxury is designed to prep travellers’ skin for flying – so that there’s no need to be that oddball in a sheet mask in seat 5G.
The experience is specifically designed for those with a plane to catch: short treatments such as the Skin Caviar Hand and Arm Massage and Instant Eye Revive are available at the Express Counter. Each is 10 minutes in duration and uses La Prairie’s ranges, such as Skin Caviar and Platinum Rare. Most pleasing of all? Counter treatments are complimentary.

For longer treatments, there’s a private beauty suite where a La Prairie therapist will conduct a skin examination and prescribe a luxury treatment. These longer sessions involve a deep cleanse, facial massage and generous application of La Prairie products to keep skin hydrated for the duration of the flight. The treatment cost is free with the purchase of a La Prairie product.
The Art of Luxury at Sydney Airport is around until September, so if you have an overseas jaunt planned, start your holiday early and book yourself in. Bon voyage, beauty!
