Skydiving and Bungee Jumping in Queenstown

Queenstown is a mecca for adventure sports and the home of bungee jumping. To get a taste of the action, head to the Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge, where AJ Hackett – the Kiwi thrill-seeker who famously bungee-jumped off the Eiffel Tower in 1987 – first set up commercial bungee jumping. Or try skydiving with NZONE, New Zealand’s first commercial tandem-skydiving operator, celebrating its 25th birthday this year. Choose the height from which you fall – 9000, 12,000 or 15,000ft – strap yourself to a professional, then simply drop out of the Supervan 900 aircraft for a couple of backflips and up to 60 seconds of free fall. While the combined experience of free falling and parachute-aided landing only lasts a few minutes, a videographer can film your feat for a lasting memento – and some serious Facebook bragging.
