If a single, huge, Dutch-style pancake cooked in the oven and delivered with a side of Canadian bacon is what you’re after, look no further than this East Village mainstay. Still drawing queues long after its 1999 opening, the intimate, adorable American bistro with global influences does brunch better than nearly everyone, even if you might need a nap afterwards (the Monte Cristo sandwich isn’t for the faint of heart). Reservations aren’t accepted for brunch but when you finally make it in, a menu of 11 different Bloody Marys awaits. And those interested in the woman behind such brunch mastery should pick up chef Gabrielle Hamilton’s well-reviewed memoir, Blood, Bones and Butter.
