Everything is Awesome at The Lego Store
At this relatively new Lego playground, kids aren’t only welcome – they’re the primary clientele. Tinkerers and tykes and everyone in between will enjoy the Lego flagship found in the Flatiron District, a stone’s throw from Madison Square Park. (Another store is in Rockefeller Center.) Giant displays of famous New York sites, like the Statue of Liberty, will inspire kiddies to think big when it comes to building their own creations. There’s a Lego lounge and plenty of couches that make it a restful stop for parents, too. You’ll walk away with plenty of gifts and a craving to watch The Lego Movie for the third time. Fair warning: the store can get quite busy but you’ll be surrounded by other tiny-brick lovers, so, well, everything is awesome.
Location
The Flatiron District, named for the iconic skyscraper on 5th Avenue, provides both a cross-section of Manhattan (office buildings and public transport abound) and a respite from the hustle and bustle, care of the gorgeous Madison Square Park.
