Slammed by the recession after years of decline, downtown Las Vegas is now undergoing a revival. Home to an ever-expanding roster of excellent cafés, bars and speciality shops, it’s definitely worth a visit. Chef Natalie Young is a poster child of this renaissance. A graduate of Strip restaurants, she opened Eat in 2012 to immediate and universal acclaim. Serving hearty Southern-inspired breakfast and lunch in a genuinely friendly atmosphere, Eat is everything the Strip isn’t. The shrimp and grits have garnered national attention and the cinnamon biscuits (a type of rich scone) with warm strawberry compote are served all day so you can have them at breakfast and lunch.
