Tulu Textiles

In Sultanahmet, two minutes from the Hippodrome of Constantinople and right next to the Blue Mosque, is a treasure-trove of fabrics, cushions and bedding. Tulu Textiles is the brainchild of long-term Istanbul resident, US-born designer Elizabeth Hewitt. Originally an antiques textile dealer and collector, Hewitt travels widely around Turkey and Central Asia, India, Indonesia and is an expert in the field. Ancient techniques, traditional designs, personal adventures and people met along the way are the inspiration for her unique contemporary home furnishings and fabrics. The floor above also houses a wonderful collection of carpets and rugs.
