Knowing that the richest and oldest coppersmith traditions herald from Turkey, Syria, Iran, India and Pakistan, local Emir Ali Enç got a shock when he discovered in 2010 that France was dominating the copper cooking-pot industry. So great was his drive to redress this issue that he dropped out of university and went to Syria for six months to apprentice with a master coppersmith before returning to set up his own workshop. His single mindedness and determination paid off as he now exports to 37 countries. Alongside pots and pans, Soy Türkiye also produces a special design of cezve (Turkish coffee pot).
