We gave Watermelon BCN Apartments the nod for being the “closest alternative to staying in Casa Mila”, but Hotel Omm takes the title of being the “best luxury boutique accommodation right by it”. Located just over 100 metres door-to-door from one of Gaudi’s most famous landmarks, stunning views of La Pedrera await from the Omm rooftop terrace. The Hotel Omm’s exterior itself is a sight to be seen – its facade looks a bit like a Christmas advent calendar that has been fully opened, with the effect of rectangular openings being peeled back to reveal the windows.

Indoors, the rooms – characterised by their oak parquet floors, neutral tones and modular-style furniture – are clean, sparse and, in the case of the Omm King and Twin rooms, a bit on the snug side. The Superior room is a great option for a couple who prefers a bit of extra space, while the Junior suite is the best option if you are travelling by three. The Michelin-Starred house restaurant, Roca Moo, is an ideal spot to sample Catalan cuisine, just be sure to book ahead. In the way of pampering and relaxing there’s a house spa and a small rooftop pool – poke your head up above the water just enough and you’ll catch some great views.
