There are no faded T-shirts or torn flares at Nicole Jenkins’ salon, hidden inside one of Melbourne’s classic Art Deco buildings. There’s a focus here on Australian designs and Nicole certainly has an eye for the best – a former costume designer, she began collecting and restoring vintage clothing in 1980. Like all outlets specialising in one-offs, you’ll never know what to expect at Circa (apart from the best quality) but if you’re a fan of 1930s voile tea dresses, Hollywood glamour from the 1940s or even wildly printed ’70s maxi skirts you may just find it on Circa’s racks. There’s also a selection of hats, purses, shoes and gloves to complete the look.

Location

This is right on the doorstep of Melbourne’s Little Greek Precinct – just head a bit further east for some 24-hour souvlaki at Stalactites. You’re also about 150 metres from the opulent Emporium Mall and just a few doors down from the epic roti at Mamak (366 Lonsdale).
