While MONA may get the adults in, it’s the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, known locally as TMAG, that’s even better for the whole family. Centrally located, the museum is a fun, engaging way to discover Tasmania through art and history. Fascinating permanent exhibitions explore Aboriginal history and contemporary culture, and there’s a big courtyard for the kids to blow off steam. There’s also a decent café and great school-holiday programs.
