The Lanzerac Country Estate in the heart of the Barossa Valley features five large, refurbished suites set inside a 100-year-old homestead overlooking the Barossa Ranges. Take a walk through the estate’s 80-year-old vines and you’ll see the ribbons of vines of Chateau Tanunda to one side and Turkey Flat Vineyards on the other. Hosts Casey and Justin Carter have catered to pretty much every kind of wedding anniversary and romantic weekend away with personal service and a breakfast that will fuel you for a full day of wine tasting and sightseeing. Ask for suite one or four for a two-person bathtub. The estate can also cater for corporate groups and conferences in the barn.

Lanzerac Country Estate is located in Tanunda, a town of 4700 people marked by church spires and the dark ironstone cottages and barns of the region’s early European settlers. It’s an easy bike ride or drive to some fantastic wineries and charming cellar doors, including Rockford, Charles Melton and Turkey Flat. The Barossa Visitor Information Centre (66 Murray St, Tanunda) is open seven days a week.
