WWhen Kanye West and Kim Kardashian chose to eat at Jamie’s Italian, it seemed the restaurant’s fate in Adelaide was sealed. Since opening in 2014 the celebrity chef’s celebrity-endorsed restaurant is packed every night. If you’re prepared to go online to book a table and wait at the bar to be seated, you can enjoy a solid family meal. Located in an ornate former bank building that’s all brass, marble and high ceilings, with an antipasto island bar, Jamie’s Italian is a vast space that seats 175 people. Order a cured meats plank, which comes loaded with Italian prosciutto, Wagyu bresaola, finocchio and artisanal mortadella. Mains take in grilled pork chops, calves’ liver and baked king salmon, as well as pasta including potato and truffle tortellini, sausage pappardelle and prawn linguine. Kids are catered for with a menu that includes spaghetti bolognaise, fish fingers and chicken lollipops.

Location

Jamie’s Italian is located on Adelaide’s cultural boulevard, North Terrace, which features a strip of historic buildings including Government House, the State Library of South Australia and University of Adelaide. The 2KW rooftop bar is located in the same building.
