Though the area is perhaps best known for its wilderness and beaches, it doesn’t follow there’s a lack of culture or creativity. Far from it. Noosa has a thriving arts community – and nowhere is that more evident than at Noosa Regional Gallery. Local and international artists are represented here in a range of exhibitions which aim to exploring the Sunshine Coast’s rich culture and character. The gallery also offers the chance to meet and talk to exhibiting artists at workshops and “coffee and conversation” sessions. One of the highlights of the gallery’s 2015 calendar is the biennial “Floating Land” sculpture exhibition, this year in its eighth incarnation. It will be held from August 27 to October 18 on the foreshores at Tewantin and Boreen Point, while a complementary seven-week retrospective exhibition of past “Floating Land” events will feature at the gallery itself.
