The best thing here is the broad range of accommodation available. Whether you want a simple, sophisticated hotel room or a luxury three-bedroom apartment, complete with kitchen and laundry facilities, the Hilton Surfers Paradise has it all. The amenities also mean it’s suited to every kind of traveller. Business guests will appreciate the dedicated Executive Floor with accompanying business centre and lounge, which serves daily breakfast and tapas and drinks from 6pm. Families will gravitate to The Deck with its children’s splash pool and outdoor barbecues. Childfree holiday-makers might head to the adult plunge pool (complete with pool bar) or to the 24-hour fitness centre. It’s also worth eating on-site as celebrity chef Luke Mangan brings his culinary expertise to the dining – and not only to his signature Salt grill restaurant. Mangan actually oversees all the menus so expect quality fare even if you’re having lunch by the pool.

Surfers Paradise is the beating heart of the Gold Coast – it’s a heady blend of soaring skyscrapers, glitzy boutiques and buzzing nightlife. It’s just over 30 minutes by car from Coolangatta airport and the Gold Coast light rail connects this area with nearby precincts like Southport and Broadbeach. Shopping, restaurants, theme parks and, of course, the beach are all within easy distance.
