What could be more decadent than Black Hide’s 1200-gram Angus Tomahawk steak drizzled with red wine jus?
Well, now it’s being served in the chic surrounds of the heritage-listed Treasury Brisbane hotel, complete with a river view. Like the Caxton Street venue, the latest addition to the Gambaro hospitality empire sticks to all-time favourites such as steak tartare, grilled Hervey Bay scallops on the half shell and mussels mariniere for starters.
The main attraction here is a dozen or so of Queensland beef producer Stanbroke’s finest Wagyu and Angus cuts, perfectly grilled and served with Wagyu fat-roasted potatoes, rosemary and garlic. If you’re after something sweet to finish, there’s rhubarb crème brûlée or rum baba with passionfruit. Add a topnotch wine list and flawless service and it adds up to an impeccable, if a little old-fashioned, experience.
