Larmont – Hotel Review

Standing tall in the heritage area of Potts Point, the Larmont Sydney is the ideal base to explore the city’s many attractions. Housed in a modern tower, the guestrooms are sleekly designed, some with panoramic views to the Harbour Bridge, Rushcutters Bay and beyond. An array of topnotch eateries and bars, plus the shopping, cinemas, galleries and other drawcards the city is famous for, are within walking distance. 

The location

Bohemian Potts Point is one of the oldest inner-city suburbs but its contagious energy makes it a magnet for anyone seeking great food and drink in an area with soul. In the centre of the action, the Larmont is a convenient 20-minute walk to the CBD and 15 kilometres from Sydney Airport.

The rooms

The Larmont’s 103 guestrooms and suites are spacious and comfortable in a contemporary palette of dark brown, taupe, white and purple, with timber furniture and modern light fittings. The generous suites, some with huge balconies, have sitting areas with day beds to gaze at the views over the city and harbour, a dressing room, luxurious king-sized beds, walk-in rain showers, a bath for soaking your cares away, well-stocked minibars and coffee machines.

Food and drink

The onsite eatery, The Hyde, only serves breakfast from a substantial menu showcasing local produce, including eggs Benedict with Bangalow double-smoked ham, baby spinach and housemade tarragon hollandaise on an English muffin, plus cold-pressed juices and Allpress Espresso coffee. For the rest of the day, there’s a cornucopia of nearby eateries and bars to try, such as modern-Chinese Billy Kwong, Italian-accented Fratelli Paradiso and European-style Monopole. For business travellers

While the Larmont doesn’t have a business centre or meeting rooms, it’s convenient for the city’s conference centres and short-term workspaces, and has free, fast wi-fi and desks in the rooms. 

For wellness travellers

Guests at the hotel enjoy complimentary access to the Anytime Fitness gym, which is open all day, every day, on the lower ground floor, and the Body Mind Life Studios for yoga classes on the mezzanine level. Take a walk through the lush Royal Botanic Gardens or pound the pavements on a run along the harbour foreshore, past the Opera House and around Mrs Macquaries Chair, with the magnificent waterscape as the backdrop.
