The 423-room voco Singapore celebrates the unique character of its Orchard Road setting – a hallmark of the youthful IHG Resorts & Hotels brand. Newly opened in the former Hilton Singapore site, voco is equally as thoughtful about sustainability, with bed linen made from 100 per cent recycled materials, eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes and refillable organic Apotheke toiletries. It’s also home to Michelin-star fine diner Iggy’s, which serves modern European with an Asian twist.

voco Hotel Singapore is located on Orchard Road, surrounded by some of the city’s most visited malls. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Changi International Airport. Orchard MRT station, a main stop on the city’s underground transport network, is just a 15-minute walk away, and has connections to wider Singapore, including Gardens by the Bay.

Suites, as opposed to rooms, also include Nespresso machines, bathtubs and considerably more space — even the entry-tier suite, 1 King Bed Suite, is double the size of a standard room, at 69 square metres.

Guests with a Club room unlock access to the swanky Club Lounge, located across levels 20 and 21, which serves complimentary light bites and drinks.

Restaurants and bars

The most notable of the hotel’s four eateries is certainly Iggy’s, a one Michelin-starred fine diner that reaches far and wide for inspiration, often landing on Japan. Consider the wine pairing with the degustation — sommelier Ignatius Chan is known to focus on bottles from Burgundy.

Opus Bar and Grill is a steakhouse with something a little special: the seafood is sustainable, as is the Jarrah wood used to grill the dry aged steaks. (They’re aged at the eatery itself, in custom-built, Himalayan salt-tiled cabinets). There’s also Il Cielo, a comfort-food Italian that overlooks the Singapore skyline as well as D9 Cakery, which serves intricate desserts.

Travel for work

No need to repurpose a stool for your remote working. Each room includes a supportive office chair and workspace; the perfect pairing with free Wi-fi. Additionally, the hotel houses a business centre, where printing, copying, scanning and faxing services are easily accessible.

Pool and gym

From 7am until 7pm, guests have access to the 12-metre outdoor pool, which overlooks Orchard Street below. The fitness centre, located on level 23, is open 24 hours and features free weights and a range of machines including treadmills, rowing machines and spin bikes.

Sustainability

It’s not background noise at voco Hotel Singapore. In addition to wooden room keys, sustainably packaged toiletries (cardboard and paper is favoured with individual wrapping), the extra comfy bedding is made from 100% recycled materials.
