Singapore Changi Airport has quickly become a stopover that travellers look forward to making, with its sprinkle of Michelin-starred eateries, sprawling family fun park and indoor waterfall (the world’s tallest, in fact). Transiting through this award-winning airport has now become even more of an attractive prospect with the expansion of the Qantas Business Class lounge.
The sleek and comfortable space has stretched its legs so that guests can too. It now extends over a spacious 2200 square metres and comfortably accommodates 570 travellers.
The former luggage storage area has been transformed with wooden herringbone walls, plush single-seater lounges for privacy, high-speed wi-fi and easy access AC and USB outlets for business travellers who need to stay connected.
The a la carte menu, crafted by top chef and Creative Director of Food, Beverage and Service Neil Perry, remains with local favourites such as chicken laksa and roast pork belly among some of the kitchen’s frontrunners. Australian wines feature heavily on the drinks list and barista-made coffee is available all day (a godsend when your body clock is out of whack).
The lounge continues to house 20 spacious showers and has 80-inch television screens to keep travellers up-to-date with local and international news.
This isn’t the only upgrade Qantas has in the works for lounges at Changi Airport – the new First Class Lounge is slated for a November 2019 unveiling. A glimpse into the lounge, to be located in Terminal 1, revealed marble reception areas, breezy rattan screens and soothing indoor banana plants.. You’ll want to book a trip just to see it.
