Orchard Parksuites – Hotel Review

From one-bedroom lofts to four-bedroom penthouses, apartments at Orchard Parksuites have all the high-end hallmarks – sleek, contemporary interior design, convenient kitchenettes and landscaped gardens – as well as a few fancy extras. Read on for the full review.

We could say these award-winning serviced apartments are all about location — the malls of Orchard Road are just beyond the marble-and-wood-lined lobby, after all. But, there's also a huge on-site fitness centre (the city's largest residential gym), a secure wine cellar available for your best vintages, four outdoor pools and a Japanese-style furo bath. It's the kind of place that makes an inner-city stay feel a bit like being home, in the best (and most luxurious) way possible.

Where is Orchard Parksuites?

About 25 minutes by car from Changi Airport, Orchard Parksuites is one street behind Singapore’s vibrant shopping destination, Orchard Road, on Orchard Turn. The closest mall ION Orchard is just a few minutes’ walk away, and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Singapore Botanic Gardens are a 10-minute drive down the road.

What’s near Orchard Parksuites?

Orchard Road’s tree-lined stretch of boutiques, malls and restaurants, including The Paragon, Scotts Square and Lucky Plaza, are less than half a kilometre away. Orchard MRT station is a three-minute walk and from there, Marina Bay Sands Skypark and Gardens By The Bay are less than 10 minutes by train.

Room types

Rooms at Orchard Parksuites range from one-bedroom apartments (59 to 77 square metres) to a four-bed penthouse (167 to 197 square metres). All rooms have a fully-equipped kitchen and two LCD TVs. Air conditioning, daily housekeeping (except for Sundays and public holidays) and 24-hour security is standard across all residences. There’s an on-site launderette on level three but the larger apartments include washing and drying facilities.

Restaurants and bars

Aside from a light continental breakfast in the lounge on weekdays, Orchard Parksuites is a self-catered residence. BBQs are dotted around the landscaped gardens or beside the pool for those keen to entertain or dine al fresco. For a taste of local cuisine, Newton Food Centre is just eight minutes away by car. Home to the almost 60-year trade of Hup Kee (now retired) and his famous omelettes, the signature dish is a fried oyster omelette and, while the lines are long, locals say it’s worth the wait.

Travel for work

Fast and free Wi-fi is available throughout Orchard Parksuites, as are dry cleaning services. There are no designated work areas in the apartments, so the dining tables often do double duty as desks.

Pool, sauna and gym

Aside from the expansive outdoor pool, the building also houses a 24-hour fitness centre that is Singapore’s largest residential gymnasium, with treadmills, climber machines and free weights. There are also full-sized tennis and basketball courts, a steam room, sauna and Japanese-style furo bath.

Pets are also welcome at an additional cost of $17 SGD per day or $321 SGD per month.
