Parents will adore the ease of eating with little ones here, as kids stay and eat free at the hotel’s two restaurants, which serve North Indian fare and an a la carte buffet of international delicacies, local favourites and seafood. Business travellers are also taken care of — the Executive Lounge, with a soaring ceiling and near constant rotation of refreshments, is a great place to send some emails or meet-and-greet with a client. 

Where is Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre?

Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre stretches along Cavenagh Road, a street that snakes off Orchard Road, a mere 250 metres away. It’s about 25 minutes’ drive from Changi International Airport and a seven-minute walk from Somerset MRT station.

What’s near Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre?

If you’ve come to Singapore to shop, you’re in luck. The clue’s in the name here: Orchard Road is little more than 250 metres away and there’s a knot of four malls even closer than that. The National Museum of Singapore is also just 15 minutes away on foot and the towering botanical wonderland of Gardens by the Bay is reachable via Somerset MRT station, a direct subway ride and a 10 minutes walk away.

Room types

Both standard and premium rooms and suites are styled in earthy tones with dark-wood panelling and come with pillow menus, daily newspapers and oversized bath towels. Suites also include a generous separate living area, access to the Executive Lounge, and two pieces of laundry per day. All rooms and suites have either a bathtub or a rainwater shower – but not both – so make sure you make your preference known at time of booking.

Restaurants and bars

There are two dining options and one bar on-site. Window On The Park hosts a near-constant buffet and à la carte menu while the award-winning (and ‘best’ list topper) Tandoor confidently serves traditional North Indian fare. Watch your naan and marinated meats cook in one of two impressive copper tandoors, on display for diners through a window. (At the time of writing, Tandoor is only open for takeaway and in-room dining.)

The Lobby Lounge, centred on a square bar that hugs a tall teal wall, serves high tea as well as evening cocktails. It’s open until 10.30pm daily and guests receive a 20 per cent discount on alcoholic beverages.

Travel for work

No need to distinguish between rooms for desk space and free wi-fi: every type includes both. Those who book a Premium Room, Suite, Deluxe Suite or Park View Suite also receive access to the Executive Lounge (closed for maintenance at the time of writing), a light, bright space big enough for both dining and relaxed seating. Host an informal meeting during evening cocktails or snag a dining table for breakfast emails during buffet hour. Or, leave the laptop upstairs and enjoy afternoon tea. It’s all on the dime of Holiday Inn – as are two pieces of laundry per day.

There’s also a 24-hour business centre, where printing, scanning and office supplies are readily available.

Pool, gym and sauna

In addition to the rooftop offering, there are separate pools dedicated to kids and little ones, including a whirlpool. Guests will also find a sauna and steam room and the small fitness centre (also closed for maintenance when writing) has several machines facing and overlooking the pool area.

What you need to know

Guests can depend on Holiday Inn’s reigning “kids stay and eat free” policy at the Orchard Road outpost, with kids under 12 receiving complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner, when meals are chosen from the children’s menu.
