Don't Miss Bali's Epic White Water Rafting

While Bali’s rivers may not provide the most hardcore, adrenaline-inducing white water adventures in the world, they are probably the most scenic. The holy Ayung River has 33 rapids as it weaves through dramatic gorges, thick rainforest and steeply terraced rice fields. You’ll spot waterfalls, kids frolicking in the shallows, evocative riverside shrines and monkeys at play. Those in search of bigger thrills generally go with Bali Sobek, which also rafts down the Telaga Waja River. With a starting point in the foothills of Mount Agung, the rapids here (category 3+) are bigger and the ride is generally a little wilder, although still safe for beginners. Both companies are longstanding professional operators with high safety standards.
Location
The Ayung River flows through central Bali while the Telaga Waja River runs through the hills and gorges of the centre east.
