The Mid-Levels Escalator

Hong Kong is home to the world’s longest escalator. Stretching over 800 metres, it’s designed to transport commuters between Central and the residential areas around Mid-Levels. With 14 entrances and exits, the best section of the moving staircase is between Queens Road Central and Hollywood Road. Hop on and take in the passing sideshow as the escalator rises up through densely populated streets packed with shops and restaurants – a microcosm of Hong Kong life.
