Flights to Australia in International Economy

Terms and conditions

Minimum stay:

Destination Australia: 7 days after the transpacific departure flight.

Maximum stay:

12 months subject to system range limitation between 330 to 350 days from departure date.

Advance purchase:

14 days.

Stopovers:

One stopover is permitted in each direction, limited to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Note: If this fare is combined with another fare the most restrictive cancellation conditions apply.

Reservations and ticketing:

When booking online, reservations are required at least 14 days before departure for Destination Australia. Payment is required at time of reservation. Qantas flights are booked in O class. Fares are year-round.

Note: Qantas flights operating on B747 or A380 equipment or a combination thereof depending on itinerary chosen from mainland US to Australia. A380 schedule subject to change and last minute change of aircraft.

Travelling with children:

Children aged between 2 and 11 years pay 75% of the adult fare. A maximum of 2 children fares per adult permitted. Infants under 2 years and not occupying a seat pay 10% of the adult fare.

Booking changes:

After ticket issuance, rebooking and rerouting are permitted at a charge of $100 per transaction. An additional service fee of US$40/AU$80 per person applies for each transaction made to an Economy ticket via telephone, retail outlet, or an airport ticket counter, depending on the country where the change is made.

No Show:

$500 per person per ticket.

Cancellation:

A cancellation fee of $200 applies per person per ticket. However, customers who purchase a ticket in the United States may cancel their reservations/refund ticket without charge within 24 hours of ticketing when purchase is one week or more prior to departure of the first flight in the itinerary.

Visa requirements:

It is the passenger's responsiblity to ensure all visa requirements are complied with.

Pricing:

Prices are subject to change at any time. We aim to provide you with the most competitive fare deals and because of this prices may go down. We are not able to provide refunds or rebookings when a lower fare becomes available.

All prices are in US dollars and based on round trip Economy class travel.

Frequent Flyers:

You may earn mileage credit on your choice of frequent flyer programs from our partners: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways or our own Qantas Frequent Flyer Program. Note: Changes to the American Airlines AAdvantage program may reduce or omit earning miles on certain Qantas fares.

Qantas codeshare services:

Domestic US flights are operated by American Airlines, American Eagle, Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air. Qantas codeshare flights QF310/QF309 are operated by American Airlines. Selected domestic Australia flights are operated by Jetstar.

Destination New Zealand: Valid on QF or AA marketed only. QF codeshare flights operated by AA. AA: LAX-AKL commences 23 June 2016 subject to government and regulatory approval.
