Qantas has been rated the world’s safest airline in the 2015 AirlineRatings.com announcement.

Speaking about their decision, AirlineRatings.com highlighted Qantas’ fatality free record in the jet era as a leading factor in their decision.

Making the decision
A number of factors were considered including audits from aviation’s governing bodies such as the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) as well as government audits and the airline’s fatality record. AirlineRatings.com’s editorial team also examined each of the 449 airlines’ operational histories, incident records and operational excellence to arrive at the top ten safest airlines, with Qantas taking prime position.

In making their decision, AirlineRatings.com editors noted that “over its 94-year history Qantas has amassed an extraordinary record of firsts in safety and operations and is now accepted as the world’s most experienced airline.”
