Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef - one of the world's unmissable treasures

Nothing compares to the first time you experience the Great Barrier Reef, with its azure waters, colourful coral, golden sands and variety of fish.

Stretching 2,300 kilometres down the Queensland coast, the reef is one of our planet's largest protected marine areas and home to an incredible array of fish, coral and mollusc. Whether you're a keen diver or like to snorkel in the shallows, there are holidays and activities on the reef for every type of traveller.

Swim with dwarf minke whales on the ribbon reefs off Port Douglas, snorkel with turtles at a sand cay, dive among colourful coral gardens on the outer reef or camp on a deserted island to watch the sun rise over the Great Barrier Reef.

Join a live-aboard dive boat for days and nights of underwater exploration, keep your hair dry on a helmet dive or zoom along on an underwater scooter. Go under your own steam paddling to a nearby island from the beautiful Cape Tribulation beach or board a helicopter for a breathtaking aerial view of the reef.

Enjoy the seclusion of a luxurious island resort in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef where you can leisurely explore a colourful underwater world, dine with the Coral Sea lapping your toes, discover marine birdlife or gaze at the ocean while you laze in a spa.

Tropical North Queensland is the closest destination to the Great Barrier Reef. Travel to a pontoon on the outer edge of the reef, dive straight from the back of the boat or swim out from an island to see some of the 1,500 species of fish, 4,000 species of molluscs and 400 types of coral that live in this diverse ecosystem.

Finding Dory

An unforgettable journey she probably won't remember

Disney•Pixar's Finding Dory follows the story of Dory, the blue tang with a bad memory, first introduced to us in the 2003 Academy Award-winning film Finding Nemo. Voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, Dory is joined by her friends Marlin and Nemo on a journey across the globe to find her parents.

Set six months after Finding Nemo, the action once again begins on Australia's Great Barrier Reef, in a maze of colourful corals teeming with fluorescent fish. Happily living on the reef with Nemo and Marlin, Dory suddenly remembers that she has a family out there who may be looking for her. She recruits Marlin and Nemo to help her find them, and so embarks on a life-changing adventure across the ocean.
