Qantas Airways Delivers The Best In-Flight Entertainment In The Sky
Los Angeles, 17 November 2005Qantas passengers can now experience the world's best entertainment in the sky on new flights from San Francisco to Australia beginning March 29, 2006. Passengers traveling non-stop from the San Francisco gateway to Sydney will enjoy award winning in-flight entertainment options, including personal seatback video screens in all classes of service.

Qantas’ award winning, non-stop entertainment system highlights:
- Brand new, state-of-the-art Total Entertainment system recently recognized with the highest Avion Award
- Personal seatback video screen with a choice of new release movies, TV shows, Q Games and Q Radio
- The latest trend in entertainment with Audio Visual On Demand (AVOD) giving passengers control of their own entertainment options is being progressively introduced
- Economy Class passengers can choose from a variety of movies, television programs, Q radio channels and games
- Business and First Class passengers have a choice of additional new release movies and all-time favorites to enjoy
For the third time in four years, Qantas Airways was named the world’s No. 1 airline for in-flight entertainment by the World Airline Entertainment Association’s annual Avion Awards. Also recognized were Qantas The Australian Way for best in-flight magazine, Q as best in-flight entertainment guide and The Making of “I Still Call Australia Home” as the best special purchase video.
Each year, the Association acknowledges innovation in in-flight entertainment for 35 of the world’s leading airlines. A 25-member expert panel rates airlines and awards the honors for in-flight audio, video, print and interactive media. Sweeping the top four awards this year, Qantas continues its streak of award winning onboard services and products.
Qantas will offer three non-stop weekly services on the San Francisco-Sydney route, operating three-class Boeing 747-400 aircraft, also featuring the luxurious, award winning new Skybed sleeper seat.
