700 additional QantasLink seats soon to arrive on Bundaberg route

Bundaberg, 15 October 2004

QantasLink will increase capacity between Brisbane and Bundaberg by more than 35 per cent from 22 November, adding more than 700 seats on the route each week.

To celebrate, QantasLink is offering a special limited fare of AUD$59.00* one way between the two cities, on sale from today until midnight 18 October 2004, for travel from 22 November until 6 December 2004.

Executive General Manager Regional Airlines Narendra Kumar said the increase in services was in addition to the new 50-seater Brisbane-Bundaberg service announced last month.

"QantasLink will provide 10 additional 50-seater services per week between 22 November 24 December to cater for the busy holiday period as well as upgrading 14 services from a 36-seater to the new Dash 8 Q300 50-seater aircraft.

"These additional services will recommence from 31 January 2005 as the new business year gets under way, becoming part of the permanent schedule between the two cities," he said.

"I am very proud to see the community of Bundaberg supporting QantasLink services in the region.

"QantasLink is absolutely committed to the Bundaberg market and this increase in services and capacity reflects that commitment," he said.

QantasLink began operating services to Bundaberg in 1981 and today operates 51 services each week between Brisbane and Bundaberg.
