New aircraft arrives ahead of schedule

Rockhampton, 15 October 2004

QantasLink will next month take delivery of its 10th new Dash 8 Q300 50-seater aircraft and provide 14 return services between Brisbane and Rockhampton earlier than previously announced.

Executive General Manager Regional Airlines Narendra Kumar said that the airline was delighted to be taking delivery of the new aircraft ahead of schedule.

"QantasLink will offer these new services from 22 November, which will increase its capacity on the route by more than 120 per cent," Mr Kumar said.

To celebrate the new services, QantasLink is offering Qantas Frequent Flyer members double Frequent Flyer points* on selected flights between Brisbane and Rockhampton from 22 November until 22 December.

Customers can choose from a well-timed schedule, allowing corporate travellers from Rockhampton to spend a full day in Brisbane departing Rockhampton at 6.45am, and returning at 6.30pm. The morning service departing Brisbane at 8.40am provides travellers from southern states with seamless connections to Rockhampton.

In addition to the 25 QantasLink Dash-8 return services on the Brisbane-Rockhampton route, Qantas Domestic also operates a daily Boeing 737 service.
