Millions of Qantas Points up for grabs

Sydney, 01 October 2002

Six lucky Qantas Frequent Flyers will each have the chance to win one million Qantas points and another 24 can win 250,000 points each by booking fares on the airline's qantas.com website between 1 October 2002 and 31 March 2003.

Qantas Group General Manager Marketing Curtis Davies said one winner and four runners-up would be drawn from each month's Internet bookings across the full range of fares including red-edeals, global deals, Qantas Frequent Flyer Award bookings and QBiz bookings.

"One million points could allow a Frequent Flyer to take five First Class trips between Australia and Los Angeles or four Business Class trips between Sydney and London or Paris. With 250,000 points, they could take eight Economy Class trips between East Coast Australia and Auckland. Charges and taxes are payable on Award flights," Mr Davies said.

Mr Davies said the airline's new look website allowed customers to:

* view more options when searching for lowest fare availability* access alternative fares when red e-deals or global deals were not available* download Qantas schedules to personal digital assistants (PDAs) such as Palm and Pocket PCs.* gain access to an online demonstration of the new Qantas QuickCheck self-service check-in kiosks.

At the Frequent Flyer page of the qantas.com website members are able to:

* make redemption and commercial bookings; * check the number of points earned and required for a trip;* view and print statement and activity information; * view regularly updated special offers and news including redemption seat opportunities; * check points earned on purchases with a range of partner products and services; * view details of current Qantas bookings; and * update personal details,

The Qantas Frequent Flyer program began in 1987 and now has more than three million members worldwide.
