Qantas announces appointment of Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Executive Officer of Qantas Airways Limited, Mr Alan Joyce, today announced the appointment of Mr Gareth Evans as Chief Financial Officer of the company.

Mr Evans has been acting Group Executive Finance, performing the functions of CFO to Qantas Airways Limited since the resignation of Mr Colin Storrie earlier this year. He was until recently, Chief Financial Officer Qantas Airlines within the Qantas Group. He is a director of the Qantas Foundation and Jetset Travelworld Limited.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Gareth Evans as CFO of Qantas Airways,” Mr Joyce said.

“He brings to the role strong airline operational experience across a broad range of functions, in addition to his corporate finance skills from roles at Caltex, KPMG and within Qantas.

“I look forward to working with Gareth Evans in his new role as CFO at the Group level.
